Eleanor Keegan Is Here!

I am thrilled to announce the arrival of my sister’s first baby, Eleanor Keegan!  Eleanor was born April 28th at 6:02 pm and weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces.  She was 20 1/2 inches long.  I thank God for Bryan and Mary and know that they will make great parents!  Please pray for Mary’s recovery and for Eleanor’s continued good health.519734-327085-thumbnail.jpg

Starting Right Workshop

I had the opportunity to attend a church planting workshop put on by Todd McMichen over at Developing Churches Network.  Todd did an excellent job and we came away with a bird’s eye view of the critical issues that need to be addressed before launching a church.  We heard from a lawyer and several accountants that gave us information relating to new churches.  I was blessed to meet several others who are also in the beginning stages of planting a church.  Please take time to check out Todd’s organization.  They are doing a great work by helping others further the kingdom of God through church plants.  Pray about how you might partner with DCN so that we can reach people for Jesus Christ.

Off and Running

What an incredible day!  We officially announced our calling to plant a church in Westwood‘s morning services.  Pastor Les was so gracious to share the church’s commitment to partner with us and support us with prayer.  We experienced a time of prayer and laying on of hands in both morning services.  I was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and the words of encouragment shared by our church family.  God is truly at work in our lives.  He continues to confirm His call on our lives to build the kingdom through a new work.  To God be the glory!

Uneducated & Untrained

I feel very unprepared to enter the Gospel minstry. Each day brings a greater realization of how little I truly know about God and His Word. I have wrestled with the idea that I am not fit to pastor a church because I haven’t completed my seminary education. Tonight as I read through the book of Acts, God showed me this verse:

"Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and began to recognize them as having been with Jesus. " (Acts 4:13, NASB95)

What a great testimony to the power of God in Peter and John! They were uneducated and untrained, yet God worked through them in a mighty way! We must not be fooled by Satan into thinking we are too insignificant to be used by our Lord. I am thankful that the Bible is alive today! God can speak to us through Scripture if we are willing to listen.
