January Update

I’m not sure if anyone is reading this, but I am still alive 🙂  One of my New Year’s resolutions was to post more on my blog.  I just have to say that God is great and we are having an incredible year so far.

My kids are growing up so fast…  With the recent death of Bronner Burgess (son of Rick from the Rick and Bubba radio show), I think we have all taken a re-evaluation of our lives.  The Bible says that our lives are a vapor and we don’t know what will happen tommorrow.  I am so convicted that I should see every moment with my family as a gift from God.  I can’t be overwhelmed by the everyday trials of life and miss the blessings all around me.   I am amazed at the grace and strength that God has given the Burgess family.  I pray that the world will look in amazement at the difference Jesus has made for them.  I pray that we will all be spurred into action on behalf of the kingdom of God.

By the way, you absolutely have to see Rick’s testimony at Bronner’s memorial service.  God is using the death of this young child to spread a revival in our state and possible across the nation.  You can watch it here (three separate parts):

  1. We are not promised tomorrow, but we are just sojourners in this world anyway. This is not our home. Our home is in heaven with our father. We must live each day as if it were our last. Yesterday is the past, today is a gift from God and that’s why its called the present. Thanks for being such a blessing to me and everyone else that you meet!

  2. Thanks for the reminder. I have been struggeling latley with many things. It is easy to let yourself get caught up in the problems all around you and get overwelmed if you don’t keep you eyes on God. Sometimes I feel as if I am hanging on by my fingernails, but I know He will never let go.
You are right, we can’t miss our blessings by always dwelling on the negetive things.
You are so special to me and I thank God for you every day.
    I love you son,
